"Spring is far more than just a changing of seasons; it's a rebirth of the spirit." -Toni Sorenson
Flip Your Mindset: Spring is Permission to Begin Again!
First, let me say this . . .
If you are new here — welcome. Truly. I do not take it lightly that you’ve invited my words into your inbox. Whether someone forwarded this to you, you met me at an event, read one of my books, or found me online — I’m so glad you’re here. This community is about growth, courage, and doing the deep inner work required to live fully and intentionally.
You belong here.
Now… let’s talk about March.
Why March Feels Like Hope
March is one of my favorite times of the year.
I genuinely love all the seasons. I love the coziness of fall. I love the sparkle and reflection of winter. I love the fullness of summer.
But spring?
Spring is dramatic.
It is the bold shift from the harshness and indoor-ness of winter into something softer. Gentler. Brighter. The days stretch longer. The air warms up but hasn’t yet become heavy with summer heat. Trees bud. Lawns wake up. Flowers show off. We trade bulky layers for lighter fabrics. We step outside more. We breathe differently.
Spring feels like hope.
It feels like possibility.
It feels like, “Maybe I can begin again.”
And that feeling? That right there?
That is mindset.
Flip Your Mindset: The First Step to Transformation
The first step in my five-step transformation model is Flip Your Mindset.
Before we leap.
Before we take action.
Before we push through discomfort.
We decide how we’re going to see a thing.
Spring gives us a masterclass in this.
Yes, with spring comes pollen.
Yes, allergies may act up.
Yes, there are bugs.
But I don’t let those things cancel my excitement.
I don’t say, “Well, since there might be sinus pressure, I won’t celebrate the flowers.”
No.
I focus on the beauty. I prepare for the allergies. And I embrace the season anyway.
That’s mindset.
What If You Approached Your Next Goal Like Spring?
Think about a goal you’ve been circling.
Starting the business.
Improving your health.
Repairing a relationship.
Applying for the position.
Writing the book.
Going back to school.
Launching the idea.
What if you approached it like spring?
Instead of focusing on:
- “What if it doesn’t work?”
- “What if I fail?”
- “What if people talk?”
- “What if I’m not ready?”
What if you chose to focus on:
- What could bloom?
- What could grow?
- Who might I become?
- What fresh energy might enter my life?
Every new season — and every new goal — carries both beauty and discomfort.
But mindset determines which one we magnify.
Growth Always Looks Messy at First
Here’s something I love about early spring: it doesn’t look fully alive yet.
There are still bare branches.
There are still chilly mornings.
There are still gray days mixed in.
But underneath the surface? Growth is already happening.
When you begin something new, you won’t immediately look like the “fully bloomed” version of yourself.
You might:
- Feel unsure.
- Second-guess your decision.
- Take awkward first steps.
- Wonder if anything is happening at all.
But growth doesn’t announce itself with fireworks.
It starts quietly.
And then one day — bloom.
Journal & Reflection Prompts
Take a few moments with these. Don’t rush.
- What “winter” season am I coming out of right now?
- What has felt dormant in my life that may be ready to bloom?
- Where have I been focusing more on the “allergies” than the flowers?
- If I intentionally flipped my mindset about one goal, what would change?
- What small sign of growth is already happening that I haven’t acknowledged?
Bonus reflection: What would it look like to approach March with expectancy instead of hesitation?
Write it down. There is power in seeing your own thoughts on paper.
Tools for Your Spring Season
Mindset is not accidental. It’s cultivated.
If you’re ready to step into your own spring season, here are a few ways to go deeper:
- 📘 Read It’s Your Time to SOAR!
- 📓 Work through the companion workbook for structured reflection.
- 🎤 Bring me in to speak to your organization about transformation and growth.
- 💬 Book a Clarity Call if you’re ready to intentionally flip your mindset and move forward.
Spring is not passive. It is active renewal.
And so are you.
A Final Word
Don’t let the fear of “seasonal allergies” keep you from stepping into your next chapter.
Every new beginning carries a little discomfort.
But it also carries fresh air.
Longer days.
Color.
Light.
This month, I encourage you to stand in the doorway of your own becoming and say:
“I am ready to grow.”
If this resonated with you, your next step is to choose one action that aligns with your new season — and take it this week.
It’s your time.
Let’s SOAR.
